Wix site migration

Wix won't let you take your site with you. I will.

Wix makes it easy to start, and hard to leave: there's no way to export your site to another host. I rebuild it on Redline as fast, plain pages that look the same, bring over your words and images, and keep every link working. From then on, your site is yours, and you can take it with you. Enter your address to see what your move would involve.

I look at your public pages and page list, the same way a visitor would. Nothing is saved unless you ask for a quote.

Typical level

A quick move for small, simple sites. Bookings, several forms or many pages add some custom work.

Typical price

$1,800–4,000 for most Wix sites, $4,000–6,000 for big ones. Hosting and care is $150 a month.

Time

Usually 1–3 weeks. Your Wix site stays live until the new one is ready.

After the move

Edit your pages yourself in a simple editor, or let me: an hour of edits a month is included.

Why people leave Wix

  • You can't take it with you. Wix sites only run on Wix. If prices go up or the plan stops fitting, your only way out is a rebuild, so the sooner it's somewhere you own, the better.
  • Heavy pages. Every Wix page loads a large amount of Wix's own code before your content, which slows phones and costs you in speed scores.
  • Add-ons with their own bills. Booking, forms and other features often come from apps with their own monthly fees on top of your plan.
  • Limited control over search details. Page addresses, structured data and what AI assistants see are shaped by how Wix builds pages, not by you.

On Redline your pages are plain and fast, your search details are set page by page, and if you ever leave, you get your whole site as standard HTML, CSS and JavaScript files.

What moves over

Comes over

  • Every page and blog post, with your words and images.
  • Your design: same layout, colors and fonts, rebuilt as plain pages.
  • Contact forms, set up again in Redline.
  • Your domain, connected to the new site.
  • Search titles and descriptions, page by page.

Needs a closer look

  • Wix Bookings and other Wix apps, matched with a tool that does the same job.
  • Member areas: free logins are supported, and I map every page behind the login with you.
  • Wix Stores and paid memberships, which aren't covered yet.

The free check above lists the outside tools it can see, such as booking or chat, so you know what to expect.

Wix gives some pages addresses of its own, such as /post/your-post for blog posts and /product-page/… for products. I list every address your site has today and make sure each one still reaches the right page on the new site, then test them all before we switch over.

How the move works

  1. Check your siteEnter your address above. You'll see the level, and I'll reply with a fixed price.
  2. I rebuild itI copy your words, images and design from your live site. There's nothing for you to export.
  3. You review itYou see the new site before anything changes, and I test that every old address still works.
  4. We switch overI connect your domain to the new site. Then you can cancel your Wix plan.

If you ever leave, here's what you take with you

Your website

As standard HTML, CSS and JavaScript files that any web host can run.

Your data

If your site keeps records such as members, bookings or form entries, you get a complete copy in a format other tools can read.

Your code

Anything built just for your business is yours. I don't own it and I won't keep it.

Your domain

It was always yours, and it goes wherever you go.

The Redline engine stays with me. Everything else goes with you. Your files, data and code are always handed over free. If you'd like help setting them up somewhere else, that's billed at my normal rate.

Questions about moving from Wix

Can I export my Wix site?

No. Wix doesn't offer a way to export a site to run anywhere else. Moving means rebuilding it, which is what I do: same look, same words and images, and every old link kept.

How much does it cost to move a Wix site?

Most Wix sites are $1,800–4,000: a small, simple site is a quick move, and bookings, several forms or many pages add some custom work. Big sites are $4,000–6,000. Hosting and care is $150 a month, or $1,500 a year, with an hour of edits a month included. The free check on this page shows your site's level.

Will I lose my Google rankings if I leave Wix?

No. Every page address keeps working, including Wix's blog and product addresses, and your search titles and descriptions come over. Faster pages usually help: an old WordPress site I moved went from 40 to 100 on speed with no extra tuning.

What about my domain? I bought it through Wix.

It stays yours. A domain bought through Wix can be pointed at the new site, or transferred to a registrar of your choice, and I'll walk you through it.

What happens to Wix Bookings and my other apps?

Each one gets a closer look. Forms are set up again in Redline, and booking or chat usually moves to a dedicated tool that does the same job. Wix Stores and paid memberships aren't covered yet.

Will my site look the same?

Yes. I rebuild the same layout, colors, fonts and images as plain pages. If there's something you've wanted to change, tell me and I'll include it in the quote.

Who's behind this

I'm Brad Simon, and Coder B Dev is my one-person studio. I've been writing software for more than 30 years: enterprise systems, web applications and SaaS platforms, for companies from startups to large enterprises. Redline is the platform I built so small business sites can get that same engineering without the upkeep. I take on a small number of sites at a time, so each one gets my full attention.

I'd rather you stay because you want to. I've seen too many business owners stuck with a platform because leaving meant losing their site. I don't work that way. Your words, images and data are yours, and so is any code written for your business: I don't claim any rights to it. If you ever decide to move on, I'll hand you your site as standard files, a full copy of your data and all of your own code, with no runaround. The only thing I keep is the Redline engine itself.
